Immigration reform is needed now. Families are living in fear every day. Parents kiss their children goodbye every morning when they leave for work and school not knowing if they’ll see them again that night. Families who’s only crime is trying to provide for a basic, decent life that every human being is entitled to. They are our co-workers, our neighbors, our friends, our families. They are vital to our economy. Let them make amends for violating immigration laws, implement stiff penalties if need be, but allow them a pathway to legalization. It is the right thing to do. The oppression and persecution of the undocumented has caused more social and financial problems than the apprehension and deportation of them, and is the epitome of anti-Americanism.

  2. Thank you for calling attention to this matter, real debate is needed on immigration reform. And really great and insightful comment, Shila Hernandez. We at the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition just wrote a blog post about this campaign.
